About the Author

Molly Jebber is an educational, motivational, and Women's Christian Connection speaker. She was raised in a small town in the Midwest, and insists if you had blinked twice, you would've missed it. She loves God, her family and friends, sunshine, swimming and traveling to the Amish communities. Creating historical Amish characters and throwing them into difficult situations and joyous times has been challenging and fun for her. The greatest reward she’s experienced in becoming an author is meeting wonderful people from all over the world who've been encouraging and supportive.

Review

Today I'm writing about Grace's Forgiveness.
I enjoyed this story a lot!!
Grace is a strong and determined woman. This, really liked about her. I especially like that she was able to forgive a wrong that was done to her. At least this person that wronged Grace righted his mistakes with her her after not really listening to anyone in his community.
In a way, I admire the Amish way by turning the bigger cheek. This is what Jesus would have is do!! Sometimes though this is very hard to do!!
Newcomer Mark Jung has unknowingly brought some baggage with him. I like Mark too!!! I guess this where I disagree with some of the Amish laws about not getting the police involved.
It is instant attraction with Grace and Mark. It's like they were meant to be even though there are some trials and tribulations they must go through in order to appreciate each other more.
I'm so glad that they have a forgiving bishops most bishops aren't very forgiving. They are quick to Bann you from the community of you do something wrong.
This I don't think is very fair. There are going to many people who dont always agree on the same thing.
The thing is, the only way you'll go to he'll is if you dont believe in Jesus. He is the true Jung and the way into heaven.
Just because some people want to leave the Amish doesn't mean they'll go to hell.
Some of the rules of the Ordung are great though.
I do like how the Amish take care of each other in a crises. Like in Mark's case.
I also admire they way they grow their own gardens, plant the fields etc.
I don't remember reading any quotes in the book unless it's God is our refuge and strength in times of ever present and trouble. Amen for this. For without Jesus I don't know how I'd survive this evil world!!!
Molly you did a fantastic job once again. I will look forward to your next installment.
There are two things those I want to mention.
I've said this before I really really admire Graces willing to forgive even though the customers at her store turn away from her and doesn't want her to help them. If you're going to that then I wouldn't bother going in the store and buying stuff.
Grace is wonderful lady. I hope to be like her someday. I'm working on it though!!!
We also think that there might be a new romance going on. For Noah and widow Anna it is instant.
There are many surprises in this novel. I very strongly recommend this book for anyone who lives Amish romance.

MY THOUGHTS

Gosh, I don't know what to say except that I loved the story.

What a weird way to meet your future husband! I think I would be mad and embarrassed too! But they say things have a way of working out. Where there's a will, there's a way. But, most often it's God's will of working things out.

That Mr. Eastcott was mean, mean!!!! Beatrice was just as bad. They did everything they could to hurt Louisa but I believe it made her a stronger person and more compassionate towards others especially the children no one wanted. I'm glad Louisa stepped in for the children in Chestnut Creek. I'm glad someone stood up to that old bat. Someone in that town should have stood up for those children long ago.

I loved Louisa's two Aunts. They made me giggle towards the middle of the story. I hope I'm like them when I get older except I don't want a stubborn mule. I think I do enough of that myself.

It also kind of made me mad when Lousia's papa just up and left without no word on when he would return and if he would return. My feelings on that is that if he were home, I doubt that her grandmother would've treated her so badly. I think that she judged Louisa unfairly. Judge ye not unless ye want to be judged. God tells us not to judge others but love them as he has loved us. I know that for some this is extremely hard to do. Especially those in the upper class. In some ways, I am so very glad that I was not born in the upper class society!! What a bunch of snobs. Even then, we still have some middle classmen that think they're above their station in life. I'm used to doing what I want to do, not as others would tell me what to do. I am as stubborn as Louisa but not quite. My motto is; if you respect me, I'll respect you.

Rita, your story was delightful! !! I especially loved the ending!!! You sure kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen!!! This was one of the best books you've written so far, and I would definitely recommend it to others

Biography

Rita Gerlach lives with her husband and two sons in a historical town nestled along the Catoctin Mountains, amid Civil War battlefields and Revolutionary War outposts in central Maryland. She was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in a large family in the Maryland suburbs.

"Romantic historical fiction that has an inspirational bent, is one way people can escape the cares of life and be transported back to a time of raw courage and ideal love," she says. "The goal of my writing is to give readers a respite from a stressful world and give them hope."

MY THOUGHTS

I couldn't put this book down!! I love Laura Hilton's books. I was hoping that Laura would write about Sammy. Sammy was the trouble maker in the Birdhouse. I loved Sammy's story.

It seems God still works miracles today even.

I laughed and I held my breath waiting to see what would happen to Abigail who was constantly getting blamed for everything that happened. I think It is terrible the way her family has treated her but maybe God has led her to live with her family in Jamesport for a reason. Abigail isn't perfect by any means. She is confused and unhappy and winds up in the wrong places at the wrong time and with the wrong crowd. This is what happened to my brother in law. He got mixed up in the wrong crowd. Thankfully, he has finally straightened himself put. We all need God. He knows every hair on our head out thoughts even before we know ourselves sometimes.

God has many names but one I haven't seen is de herr. I've heard Yaway, Jehovah etc.

Sammy is learning to grow up and admit his mistakes through trust in God.

Too many times we want to do things our way instead of His will on His timing. We get in a big hurry and I'm definitely guilty of this and mess things up.

My very favorite verse is That who so ever believes in me shall have eternal life.

This means me too!!! I'm so very glad that Jesus loves me no matter what!!

Whenever we turn to God in prayer sometimes He answers our prayers but not always in the way we want.

I'm glad that Abigail and Sammy got their answers.

Also on short note people don't always apologize Whenever they do wrong to us or vise versa.

Laura, you've outdone yourself on this novel. The cover is awesome!! Thank you for letting me read and review your book.

I have this book 5 stars because the story made me laugh and cry and even stunned in some places!! Abigail is an OK gal!!!

I kept my fingers crossed for her through the entire book.

It seems to me, that if you keep your faith and trust in God that things do have a way of working out.

Christmas Comes to Little Hickman Creek by Sharlene MacLaren

MY THOUGHTS

Sharlene Baker MacLaren has done it again. I just love her books. I was talking to her and asked if Little Hickman was a real town and alas it really is! The best part is I'm only 20 minutes away from it and didn’t even realize it exists.

This is my very first time reading a novella. I thought it was a sweet and tender romance story. Sharlene is a great storyteller.

I can't imagine what it's like to lose a spouse. I think if I lost mine I wouldn't want to ever marry again but as I read this book I realized that God has other plans for Sadie. When Sadie lost her husband in an accident it seemed like it took her forever to come around.

When you put God first good things seem to start happening. Prayer is also a very powerful thing.

I laughed out right at the skunk story because I can relate to that one too! I was waiting for the city bus to take me to work one morning. As I was sitting there, in seen something out of the core

of my eye and at first I thought it was a cat. It didn't occur to me at first that it was a skunk! I started calling here kitty kitty and just as reached to.pet it I seen the white stripe up its back and boy did I run for my life!!!! Luckily, I didn't get sprayed. it just wanted my lunch I had packed. God was with me that morning as He is with me all the days of my life. I just don't always put him first!

Sadie first started coming around when she went Christmas tree hunting with the town council. Almost reminds me of a scene in Christmas Vacation lol.

Then later with the sewing of costumes for the children's Christmas program. Finally, she did come around when she thought Reed was seeing someone else.

It was her Pa that gave her the final nudge. I'm so very glad that he did!

After Reed and Sadie had their talk, things were finally taking place they way they should have been.

Grief is different for each person. It comforts me that knowing God is by my side each and every day.

I hated leaving my friends in Little Hickman. it was great reading about them again! But maybe I'll get to visit Little Hickman someday the Lord willing!

I am giving this book 5 stars!!! Thanks Sharlene for another wonderful story!

BIOGRAPHY/AWARDS & ACCOLADES

Born and raised in west Michigan, Sharlene attended Spring Arbor University. Upon graduating with an education degree in 1971, she taught second grade for two years then accepted an invitation to travel internationally for a year with a singing ensemble. In 1975, she married her childhood sweetheart. Together they raised two lovely, wonderful daughters, both of whom are now happily married and enjoying their own families. Retired in 2003 from 31-years of teaching, "Shar" loves to read, sing, travel, and spend time with her family, in particular, her wonderful, adorable grandchildren!

A Christian for 45+ years, and a lover of the English language, Shar has always enjoyed dabbling in writing--poetry, fiction, various essays, and freelancing for periodicals and newspapers. Her favored genre, however, has always been romance. She remembers well the short stories she wrote in high school and watching them circulate from girl to girl during government and civics classes. "Psst," someone would whisper from two rows over, and always with the teacher's back to the class, "Pass me the next page."

In recent years, Shar felt God's call upon her heart to take her writing pleasures a step further and in 2006 signed a contract for her first faith-based novel; thereby, launching her writing career with Through Every Storm. MY THOUGHTS

Charlotte Hubbard has really outdone herself on this one!!!!
I have laughed myself silly throughout this book and I sniffled some too.
The characters are so delightful!!
I think though that Deborah is my favorite and then Rosetta is next.
Deborah is innocent in all that happens to her. She only did what she thought was right since there was no one around.
I love her strength and determination to get through her trials and tribulations against the bishops son. She keeps turning to God to help her in her times of trouble.
Rosetta and her sisters have left Coldstream because of the bishop and his wayward son. The bishop might claim that Issac is innocent but God knows and sees all that we do. They'll have to answer to God on judgement day even if they do get away with whatever wrong they do here on earth.
My favorite saying is God is our refuge and strength in times of trouble. Our church sang a song much like this by Mary McDonald.
Noah and his brother at first resented coming to Promise Lodge. it is here that Noah learns to forgive Deborah after he hears and understands what has been done to her..Eventually God begins working towards softening his heart.
Rosetta has a lot of guys and determination as well. All she wanted place of peace to live for madels and older women.
I wasn't too fond of France's and Floyd at first until they were getting ready to depart and I learned why he was the way he was.
This shows us a good example that really don't know what other folks go through unless we've traveled in their shoes.
Ruby and Beulah were brave to come on their own as well. At first I thought they were twins the way they finished each other's sentences.
Will there eventually be a wedding in store for our favorite young couple and will the two sisters come back to stay at Promise Lodge a place of peace?
I strongly recommend this book for anyone who loves to read about the Amish

MY THOUGHTS ON HOPE IN THE LAND

I enjoy reading Olivia Newport's books because I'll never know where she'll take me next. This time it was back in the 1930"s the year of the Depression and the Dust Bowl years. She has done her research quite well. I felt like I was working right along with Polly and Henry. But the thing is, I didn't really like all the secret keeping. Usually it winds up hurting that person. But, I guess either way will hurt. Polly is an upstanding character. A bit clumsy but otherwise delightful. Accidents can happen whether we mean for them to or not. I liked Polly. It seems like the harder she tried the more clumsier she got lol! Henry is another delightful person to get to know. Not a very ambitious person but at least he does try. Very determined. It couldn't have been easy in his line of work. Minerva was something else altogether. I sometimes got very frustrated with her. She thought she was too good to share company with her neighbors. In those day and times, I don't think it was worth being choosy. I'd welcome the help wherever I could get it. She is a very spoiled person. Used to getting her own way all the time, spending too much money. Money they didn't have back in those days. I believed she learned a very hard lesson. Sometimes getting along with what she considered the enemy can pay off. I didn't like the fact that she judged Henry. It's not our place to judge others it is God's place. Even we still do that to others these days. It's just plain wrong. Rose was determined to win over her mother and teach her a lesson on the ways life was different and had to off besides money. So was Ernie. Sometimes, some of us has to learn the hard way. I am such a person. I am still such a person but, I don't go spending money we have. In some ways, I think that we're still living in the Depression days. Why I say this. The cost of living has gone up but, not the wages. Some wages are the same. This is why I say it couldn't hurt to learn from the Amish.

They know how to live from the land. Even back then. I don't think that today's generation would know how to survive very well. They don't know nothing about raising their own crops, fruits, chicken whatever the case may be. Chickens are awesome to have around! There's nothing like good ole fashioned country eggs! I've tried telling my son this but he won't have nothing to do with no more lol!! Thomas is a determined character as well. I believe that he will make an excellent husband for someone!! I'm glad his daed thought to take care of him as well. It is usually the 1st born that gets everything. Gloria is stubborn. So is Minerva. But, as I said in the beginning of this review. It sometimes helps to come together to survive. There's hope in anything we can do. It may take a lot of hard work and trust in God. I give this book 5 stars!! I very strongly recommend this book for anyone that loves Amish and Historical fiction mixed. There were parts that really enjoyed and some parts that I didn't. While I got lost in the historical part I wasn't too fond of the fantasy part.
I also wasn't too fond of present tense; I did however like that it was told in first person my favourite genre when I go to read a book.
I thought the author did a wonderful job on her story telling. While some people may think it was rushed I didn't think so.
My favorite character is Wren. Maybe it's because there's something special about her. She's strong and very determined to try and get out of socializing with a bunch of snobs. I dont think would want to be taken out of my comfort zone just because everyone wants me to get married and have a husband. I would want to marry for love. But, I guess in some situations it isn't always convienient.
My next favorite is Lucy who seems like a shy and gentle person. Lucy fascinates me. I think it is because she's the youngest and grandma's favorite. I thought grammama was a definite snob even though in her opinion she was only trying to right by the girls.
I thinks it wrong that some parents at favortism among their children. My husband's parent's did that and it makes me so mad!!!
Eliza is my least favorite because she's ways jealous wanting something someone else has. She's always wanting to make Weeks life miserable.
I definitely didn't like Lord Blackburn. When I first met him in this story I had a funny feeling about him!! Something just didn't quite add up.
Penelope is also a gentle and shy soul. It was Penelope who made Wren feel comfortable for her coming our party. Lord Thorenwood is our mysterious man. At first I didn't like him but as I read on he became an awesome character.
My hero!!
Overall, I did like the story and I thought the author did an awesome job on writing it. I am giving this book a 4 stars.
