The Christmas Swap by Melody Carlson

THE CHRISTMAS SWAP BY MELODY CARLSON

ABOUT THE BOOK

The Christmas Swap by

All Emma Daley wants this holiday season is a white Christmas. But the young teacher and struggling musician sure can't find that in sunny Arizona. Luckily, there's someone living in a perfect mountain home in the Colorado Rockies looking to make a vacation trade this year.

Tyler Prescott is an in-demand songwriter and talented musician who put his own singing career on hold to write songs for celebrity acts to perform. When his mother convinces him to do a vacation trade for Christmas, he never imagined one of the houseguests would be so sweet--or so strikingly pretty. Naturally, he decides to stick around, and, to get better acquainted, he poses as the house's caretaker. But when Emma's friend Gillian discovers his true identity and sets her sights on him, things
get . . . messy.

Fan favorite Melody Carlson is back with another delightful Christmas tale to warm your heart on those cold winter evenings.

MY REVIEW

It's not Christmas without reading one of Carlson's Christmas stories! This is her newest one and it was great!
If this little book doesn't get you into the Christmas Spirit I don't know what will!
I love books that leaves my heart feeling full and this one didn't disappoint. It's not Christmas without reading Carlason's Christmas books!
The only character I didn't really like was Gillian. I agree with another reader.
Carlson does such a good job in bringing some of my favorite people like Emma to life once again. I was happy to have her back because in the first book I felt like she was my best friend since we related to so many things.
I finished this book in less than an hour because I didn't want to leave my happy place that Carlson has made for me while reading this book. I didn't want it to end. This book truly made me forget what all was happening in the world right now. With much appreciation and thank you Melody Carlson.
I've seen snow most of my life and I really don't care for it. It was why I moved to Florida. Snow and ice and me do NOT get along!
I've been to Colorado and I loved it so it was easy to picture the ski resort in which this story takes place.
I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own. Thank you Netgalley/Revell publishers for a copy of this book

YA Fantasy, Paranormal
Hardcover, Paperback & ebook, 348 Pages
July 7, 2020 by Designs by Seraphim

Eighteen-year-old Jordan Conway has always wanted to help people, but helping seven archangels to achieve their divine duty was never quite what he had in mind…

When Jordan is entrusted by the head nun of his orphanage to deliver a mysterious backpack to a New York City address, he comes unexpectedly face-to-face with Archangel Gabriel. Their acquaintance fast uncovers a labyrinth of secrets that connect Jordan’s once-normal life to an ancient heavenly prophecy. Now, he must help Gabriel to reunite the archangels before evil forces grow too strong.

Soon, Jordan and Gabriel find themselves on a divine quest across the globe, while deep in the pits of Hell, Satan plots his return to earth. To gain control, however, Satan needs the powerful prophetic objects locked safe inside Jordan’s backpack—and the devil will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

With that notion threatening his only family and the safety of his newfound friends, Jordan must do whatever it takes to protect the ones he loves and help the archangels succeed. If that means sacrificing all he thought he knew to go to war with the devil himself? Bring it on.

MY REVIEW

I have really enjoyed this new to me author so much that I'm eagerly awaiting the other books that are coming out! I hope that Prism Tours will host these books as well!
Such a fantabulous book that kept my interest from page one until the end.
I really like how this story is told in multiple voices. At first it confused me but then I caught on as to whose voice the story was told in. Very well done!
I liked Jordan immediately. His adventure became mine in an instant! The mystery that was woven in made a perfect sit on the edge of your seat holding your breath kind of deal.
This young adult novel was just wow! I know I know I keep saying that but this story just took my breath away! Oh my!
I can tell you that I've certainly learned a lot from reading this book. Some of the paragraphs were very descriptive but I like that. It's how you learn things. I liked the detailed scenes in this book.
The author does such an excellent job that she had made my imagination run wild! I mean, I can just picture all that was happening in Heaven.
I think the character I most admired was Jordan. He was so very brave and took his mission very seriously and was determined to see it through. I didn't like how Sister Helen threw him into it but she had her reasons.
I also enjoyed reading about Gabriel. He was indeed a fascinating character!
I know that there are angels all around us. I love that God has placed them to guard and sometimes even protect us. They are God's messengers as well. I was always told that God couldn't be everywhere at once so He sends His angels to help us. I think I like that idea very much.
My thanks to Prism Tours for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.
I strongly recommend. This book would also be perfect for the church libraries and maybe some Bible studies.
I highly recommend this book.

Backlash by Rachel Dylan

 BACKLASH BY RACHEL DYLAN

ABOUT THE BOOK

CIA analyst Layla Karam is thrust into a dangerous DEA field operation against a cartel that puts a target on her back. Though Layla never wanted to be a field agent, Langley had other ideas. After one of her team members is murdered because of fallout from the op, Layla is left scrambling to find safety.

At the same time, the CIA opens up an internal investigation against her. Out of options, Layla turns to ex-boyfriend and private investigator Hunter McCoy for help finding out who might want to ruin her career.

Layla and Hunter soon discover a mole inside the DEA has sold out the team's identity to the cartel. She must clear her name with the Agency and protect herself and her teammates from cartel retaliation. With threats on all sides, Layla must put her trust in Hunter--the man who broke her heart--and hope they both come out of it alive.

MY REVIEW

Dylan certainly knows what she's doing with a series like this!
It's been such an exciting series so far and I'm loving it!
I love learning about the many different agencies that protects our country. I never knew there were so many!
I'm like another reader tho. I would have loved some more insight on the three friends ' friendship. I would have liked to have seen how they met ect.
I did love Layla and Hunter. I feel like I've l known them for a long time. Have you ever met someone and few like you've known them for a long time? That's the way I felt with these two characters.
I also loved the supporting characters like Izzy. I was so happy to see her back but my heart went out to her too.
I can honestly say that I loved the fast action from the beginning to end. Dylan even had a few surprises along the way with whodunit. Love those kinds of guessing games because it makes the book that much more fun! Dylan has a knack for keeping her readers like me eagerly turning the pages to see what happens next. I thoroughly enjoyed this novei! I love good solid writing like this book seems to have so I'm giving it 5 stars!
Five stars for the wonderful characters and an awesome plot of course!
Here's a favorite quote from the book. Hunter tells Layla this and what he said couldn't be more tried than life itself!
" I really do believe that God gave us a chance at second love. Not everyone gets a chance at love with the person who means the most to them in the world. So so true!
One more favorite is that God has a plan for each and every one of us. In all honesty I love this reminder because sometimes I forget to look outside the big box. I think we all do.
The author has done an excellent job of weaving faith filled reminders throughout the book from time to time. She reminds us that God always has our backs. Even if we do get mad at Him when things don't go our way. Or when certain things in life are out of our control. Just like Hunter and Layla. My two favorite characters. I will always think about them even after the book is finished.
I'm already looking forward to reading the next book in this series! She doesn't disappoint either!
I highly recommend! This is an excellent read!
My thanks to Netgalley/Bethany House for a ecopy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own!

ABOUT THE BOOK

In this third installment of Amy Clipston’s Amish Marketplace series, an acquaintance grows into love over a few well-timed cups of coffee.

Alongside her cousins who have booths of their own, Bethany Gingerich runs a busy and successful coffee and donut stand at the Amish market. Since she has café-style tables and chairs, her regular customers enjoy purchasing a morning treat so they can sit and talk to their friends.

Micah Zook and his grandfather, Enos, visit Bethany every Saturday morning to purchase coffee and donuts before going to work at Enos’s custom outdoor furniture shop. Bethany enjoys talking to Micah and Enos, and she’s always thought Micah was handsome—but she doesn’t think her crush will ever result in anything more.

When Micah and his grandfather don’t come to see her one Saturday morning, Bethany begins to worry. And when she learns that tragedy has struck, she wonders how to help Micah in his time of need. Turns out he needs a friend now more than ever, and Bethany may be just the kind of friend that God has provided for him.

MY REVIEW

Well, to be honest here I did learn that there were a lot of flavors of coffee.. Too many to count! I could practically smell all of the different flavors! And the donughts. Made my stomach growl!
Another honesty I still didn't like Simply Sara Ann King. She hasn't changed much since the first book! I kept hoping but I guess it's not to be. I don't like people like Sara Ann. I did remember to tell myself that Jesus loves her too.
The one person I can relate most to is Bethany. I felt in more ways than one that Clipston was really telling my story! I've felt like she's felt throughout the story many times and I still do.
Another honesty I felt that towards the end the author tended to rush through the book to the end. No one can come to understanding that fast. It takes time to.find one's self so to speak. But I also understand that this is a work of fiction.
A quote that I liked very much is " With God All Things Are Possible. " Yes, they are but only if it's His will. There is a time and place for every everything including the different seasons of our lives.
There've been times when I was really angry at.God. But thank goodness for friends and a good husband to point me back to Him. For without Him I feel empty.
I enjoyed the story a lot and there were some positives about this book.
I finished this story in one day because I really wanted to find out if Bethany finds happiness.
Clipston is a wonderful author! I always look forward to seeing what she comes out next. I'm never disappointed with her stories either!
I highly recommend this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

ABOUT THE BOOK

In a land where being the fairest maiden is a curse . . .

A beautiful noblewoman with a terrible secret, and a prince subjected to slavery.

Upon the death of her wealthy father, Lady Gabriella is condemned to work in Warwick’s gem mine. As she struggles to survive the dangerous conditions, her kindness and beauty shine as brightly as the jewels the slaves excavate. While laboring, Gabriella plots how to avenge her father’s death and stop Queen Margery’s cruelty.

Prince Vilmar of Scania enslaves himself in Warwick’s gem mine as part of a royal test to prove himself the most worthy of three brothers to become the king’s successor. Amidst the hardships, he doesn’t anticipate his growing compassion for the other slaves, especially tenderhearted Gabriella.

As the annual summer ball looms nearer, Gabriella sets into motion her plan to end Queen Margery’s evil. When Vilmar learns of Gabriella’s intentions, he resolves to come to her aid and fight against Warwick’s queen. But doing so may require him to give up his chance of becoming Scania’s next king, perhaps even cost him his life.

The real Cinderella story.

The Fairest Maidens
Book 1: Beholden (Sept 2020)
Book 2: Beguiled (Oct 2020)
Book 3: Besotted (Nov 2020)

MY REVIEW

As always Hedlund writes amazing stories including this one! I was up until 4 a.m. so that I could finish Vilmar's story. It's so very gut!! I couldn't put it down!
Oh and I will say that this story is told in multiple voices. I will also be honest and say that sometimes it was very confusing but once I caught the jest of it I was ok with it.
All of the characters except maybe Curly was easy to get to know but then after awhile I began to respect him too. I feel like that once you've made friends with Curly you've got one for life. I will once again be be honest and say that I've never cared for this genere until I picked up one of Hedlund's stories. Now, I'm hooked for life and can't wait for the next book to come out.
These stories are always fun to reread too! I generally always miss something the first time through.
I felt sorry for some of the other supporting characters because I felt that they didn't deserve to be where they ended up at.
I certainly didn't like the rats. Big ol ugly things. Gave me nightmares! I could just imagine how the workers felt! I was afraid right along with them! Oh my! I am going to figure the rats were the main villains. They're worse than snakes!
My favorite character though was Gaberiella. She was so sweet, kind and always thought of others besides herself. I like that in a person. She's made me hold my breath in several places in this story that's for sure!
I think that if everyone were like Gabby the world would be a better place. I wish more people could be more like her.
I've enjoyed watching Vilmar coming into his own. I believed along the way he learned a very important lesson.
My mom and grandmother said that if someone doesn't like you kill them with kindness. Kindness is that person's worst enemy. Maybe something happened in that person's life to make them that way or whatever the case is. I have to keep reminding myself that whenever I run into someone that is unkind. I had to relearn that at work too. It wasn't easy but it could be accomplished.
This wonderful story releases Sept 22, 2020! Be sure to grab your copy when it's available or you can still preorder it.
I highly recommend this story. I believe that you will recognize this awesome story by Jody Hedlund.
I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own.

ABOUT THE BOOK

US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are thrust into a high-profile case when they are called on to transport two prisoners across the country on a private plane. But when the plane experiences engine trouble en route from the Pacific Northwest to Colorado, the pilots crash-land the aircraft deep in the heart of the sprawling Salmon-Challis National Forest.

When Madison and Jonas regain consciousness, they find both pilots and one prisoner dead--and one fugitive on the run. They'll have to negotiate the rugged and remote backcountry through Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado while tracking a murderer who is desperate to disappear--and will do anything to stop them.

This high-octane game of cat-and-mouse from bestselling and award-winning author Lisa Harris will have your heart pumping as you try to catch a fugitive with nothing to lose.

MY REVIEW

This book y'all! It is sooooooo good! I picked up my print copy from the post office and I just loved this book! I couldn't out it down until I finished it! I'm like wow! This book deserves more than 5 stars because of the solid writing that Harris does. I like that her characters are realistic and at they have feelings just like the people do in real life.
I enjoyed the the plot and all of the characters. Harris sure knows how to keep her readers interested! So many twists and turns! Just like a roller coaster ride. Some of these I never saw coming! I love books like this!
My favorite is Jonas! And next of course is Madison. They're each trying to heal from their losses and it's not easy. Grief can suddenly hit you in your tracks when you least expect it that's for sure! I think we can all relate to these characters in that regard. It's never easy to lose someone no matter what the case may be.
Harris describes the scenes so well! Makes me feel like I'm watching a movie only the book is so much better! Besides, I love using my imagination too. That's so much fun! I definitely enjoyed this adventure!
I was sad to see this adventure end but on the positive note, I'm glad there's going to be another Madison book! I'm so glad that this wasn't the only book that is going to be written for I had a feeling that it wasn't the end of Madison's story.
I would've hated to see her drop off so suddenly. She's my heroine!
My thanks to Netgalley and Revell for a copy at his book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own

MY REVIEW

I will be honest and say that I picked this book for the cover because it looked interesting and I love reading about the Westward movement. How exciting and terrifying those days must’ve been compared to now!
I also will be honest and say that I was doubtful about the title. But, as I read on the title began to make sense to me. I liked how Kier explained to Fiona and me what that meant. Thank you Kier.
The author chose this title well.
I loved every minute of this book except the steamy parts of course. I skipped over those. Oh and there was maybe but a couple of times in where God was mentioned for which I was disappointed but for the most part I thought the author done well with this book. .
I finished this in two days because I wanted to savor it. I didn’t want the story to end.
I was able to experience the trip through the characters and “felt” the fear and could “see” in my minds eye like it was a movie that held me spellbound. I love books like that!
Generally I love the two main characters but this time I went for the secondary ones. They were interesting especially Doc and his wife Libby. I felt that they were special people to have in the company.
I also got to enjoy “experiencing the Sioux camp.”
The author has done a wonderful job in showing us that Indians are people just like us. They were treated unfairly.
I didn’t like how they were treated by the government.
I’m giving this book 4 stars because as I’ve said before there was only a couple of times that God was mentioned. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
My thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own!
