MY REVIEW

I adored this story!!
Tara has done a wonderful job writing it. She has done an excellent job of bringing to life these wonderful characters and their feelings. Serena's especially. You could feel her fear of being found out oozing out of the book and hitting you head on. So you definitely know that there's going to be a great story here.
There are many twists and turns so be ready to spend an afternoon, evening or even long into the night (whichever you prefer) reading to see what happens to the people of Golden.
I loved the setting of a small town as I'm from a small town myself and I am still living in one. Really there's nothing wrong with them except if it's family they usually know your business before you do and I hate that!!
I was delighted to meet Mrs. M. She's such a gem and I understand Logan's attachment and over protectiveness to her. I was like that with my own grandmother. I would do anything for her even if it wasn't something I wanted to do. Grandparents are special. I miss mine so much!!
Mrs. M reminds me of Anna Felty of the Huckleberry Hill series always wanting to play the matchmaker.
Don't you just love it when someone comes out of nowhere? I think this is what makes the story seem more exciting because you are trying to find out what would suddenly bring that person home after being gone so long.
My thoughts are it is never good to keep secrets no matter how big or small they seem to be. The more you try to hide something the worse it gets and may end up hurting the other person or people that are involved. For it will always come out in the end. That is why trust is most important. I know trust is hard especially when someone has done something to break it but that is where forgiveness comes in. It is more for you than the other person.
. Serena and Logan both have secrets. Will Logan destroy everything? or will he be the chance at love that she never have? I can't wait for ya'll to read this book and find out! I feel like a kid waiting to see what everyone else thinks!!
I strongly recommend this book.

MY REVIEW

This is a new to me author and already I'm in love!!
The author has done a wonderful job in mixing this story with the right amount of mystery and does she ever you keep you guessing!! Wow!! Who would've thought!! And right under our noses too!!!
A sweet and clean read with two adorable kids who are trying to find their way in life and dealing with a new school (I understand just how they feel especially Graham. I had to move to a new state new school new everything when my dad decided to up and move his whole family to Ky without first checking everything out)! I had to work hard to fit in but because I was different I never did. My heart broke for Graham.
Avery is a different story. She doesn't let a thing bother her at all!! Avery reminds me of my husband Kevin. He just lets everything roll off his shoulders. I'm so jealous!!
I would not mind having a bodyguard like Donavan at all!! Swoonworthy!!
He's the kind of guy I'd definitely like to look out for me!! But who knew he was full of surprises!!
Kelly is pretty awesome herself. She has a way with people in general.
Something that I thought I had until someone ruined it for me.It happened at work. But, she's the one who will have to answer to God just like this stalker of Kelly's will. I really don't understand some of the things these ppl do and get away with it.
But all in all I really liked the story.
It kept me occupied until I realized what time it was!! I didn't even noticed the sun had begun to set tonight!!
I will be looking for more from this author!!!
My thanks to Prism Tours and the author for providing me a copy. No compensations were received and all opinions are my own!!

The month-long stay seems much too short as Esther becomes acquainted with her brother-in-law’s new ranch hand, Stewart Brant. When obligations compel her to return to Cincinnati and to the man her overbearing mother intends her to wed, she loses hope of ever knowing true happiness.

Still reeling from a hurtful relationship, Stew is reluctant to open his heart to Esther. But when he faces a life-threatening injury with Esther tending him, their bond deepens. Heartbroken when she leaves, he sets out after her and inadvertently stumbles across an illegal slave-trade operation, the knowledge of which puts him, as well as Esther and her family, in jeopardy.

MY REVIEW

What an awesome journey that the author has taken us on!!
With rip rouring adventures at every twist and turn this book will have you shouting at the characters and crying with them at the same time.
There's beautiful messages in here that helps us to know God if n you don't already know Him.
To the Lord, there is no class of people high society, middle or poor He loves us all the same. He only wants your heart no matter who you are.
I loved Stew or Stuart Brant especially his unselfish acts in this story. His strength and courage and unselfiahness are what makes him a good man but he lacked one thing.
Esther has truly grown into herself and is a delightful person to be around. She's a character to be proud of.
Annie and Toby are wonderful as well. Annie with all of her encouragement and love for strangers was all it took to make her a fav of mine
I'd like to know what part of Kentucky they lived in. I sometimes wished I had lived back then to see for myself what this place might've looked like!!
Well done Cynthia!! A great ending to this series!!! And a blessing as well!!
The Lord Jesus is my friend and He always shall be.
I highly recommend this book!! It's fantastic!!!
I received a complimentary copy with no compensations received. All opinions are my own

When the truth cost her everything, she thought there was nothing left to lose.

Mikayla Gordon loves nothing more than sleeping under the stars, reeling in the “big one,” and long hikes in the wilderness. A medical crisis reveals a 30-year-old secret that turns everything she’s known and believed upside down, unraveling her dreams and her identity.

In search of answers, she follows a trail from Minnesota to Colorado and discovers more unwelcome secrets even as she falls in love with the majestic beauty of the Rocky Mountains, and a wilderness camp leader who shares the greatest secret of all.

Knowing her life can never go back to what it was, she must make decisions that will impact far more than just her future.

MY REVIEW

I really enjoyed this book because I can so relate to Mikayla.
I too have heart issues. I had two holes in my heart and the patches weren't big enough and therefore has left a slight heart murmur.
I thank God he's seen fit to let me live this long.
And like Mikayla I've not let it slow me down. I'm doing all the things I love to do. Hint: my heart problems were when I was 2.
I've felt like Mikayla in throwing up my hands many times especially when I get frustrated
I loved this authors writing and I really loved this story.
I enjoyed the book so much that I didn't want to put the book down.
I loved that the author never let Mikayla slow down and took her and us on a journey of a lifetime.
I've felt like I was revisiting many of these places.
As they say the mountains are calling!
If you want to go on a journey of a lifetime this story is for you.
My thanks to the publisher for this beautiful story!

This past weekend my family and I took a trip to Michigan. ( For those of you  that don't know, that's my happy place)!
Earlier in the morning we went to the Soo Locks in Sault St. Marie, Michigan. My has it ever changed!! Then we looked over and seen the International Bridge. What a sight!!
But, the Mighty Mac will always be my favorite!!
We also got to witness one of the tour boats going through the Soo Locks. We didn't go because we thought we had to have a passport. But, I did stick my hand over the fence into Canada lol!!

Here we are with a big freighter behind us on the St. Mary's River

After We left St. Mary's River  we went on to Lake Superior which is my favorite lake in the whole world!!
Michael and I walked along the shore and picked up a few colorful rocks. We made sure we picked up the small ones. You know heavy the big ones can get lol! In other words, being greedy. I think we stayed there for a least 2 hrs listening to the waves crash against the shore. Such a soothing sound.I even said a prayer or two while I was sitting on the beach watching my boys. I told Michael not to loose his glasses. Every time we go near water Michael manages to loose them.

NOW WE ARE WAITING TO DEPART FROM ST. IGNACE

For the most part, we did enjoy it especially our Sunset Cruise on Aug 2nd at 8:30 in the evening.'
It always amazes me that they know exactly what time the sun goes down but I guess they've been doing it a long time! Heck, they were doing it when I went on one at 9 years of age with my own family.
I think my boys enjoyed it. Especially Michael. That's the one who I was hoping would. The cruise took about 1 and 30 minutes and then we saw fireworks afterwards! What a treat!! And standing on the Ottowa with our captain Mr. Ed and crew.  Missy was a trip. When I looked behind me, there she was just a dancing away with the music lol!! I laughed out loud! Michael just shook his head as most teens do. I do know one thing!! It was ccccooooolllddd!! on the lake in the evening! Everyone had a sweatshirt of some kind on the boat ride. Everyone except us. I felt kind of foolish but when you're living in the South you don't think about things like that.

GETTING READY TO GO UNDER THE MACKINAC BRIDGE

Going under the bridge is the amazing part. Everyone was like ooohh and aaawww!! It fascinates me how that bridge has withstood the test of time and what things she must've seen!! I'm not sure but I think we even went over the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. It was some kind of shipwreck. they didn't say which one. I think the Edmund sank in Lake Superior though. I'd bet my money on it I was disappointed that the Northern Lights didn't show while we were there. I did see a shooting star the Observation Center in Mackinaw City. Now that was awesome!!

LIGHTHOUSE AT ST. IGNANCE, MICHIGAN

One of the lighthouses of St. Ignace Michigan. It was shining when we got back into the dock about 11p.m. that evening. We walked to the end of the lighthouse and all you could see was Lake Huron everywhere you looked was water. Fresh lake water that is.

CAUGHT THIS MAGNIFICENT SIGHT

Tried to get this bridge at night but we didn't do so well.
All in all it was a wonderful trip but if I had known I was going to be doing all the driving up and back plus all the delays on 75 up and back I don't think I would have went. But, you know what, I'm glad I did because who knows when we'll get back up here. We never did make it over to Mackinac Island. We were busy doing other things!! I'm just glad that God has blessed us with this wonderful trip before Michael went back to school.

  READ AN EXCERPT.

An Uncommon Beauty… Hidden away in rural Devonshire, Phyllida Satterthwaite has always been considered more odd than beautiful. But in London, her oddity has made her a sensation. Far worse, it’s caught the eye of the sinister Duke of Moreland—a notorious art collector obsessed with acquiring one-of-a-kind treasures. To escape the Duke's clutches, she’s going to need a little help. An Unlikely Hero… Captain Arthur Heywood’s days of heroism are long past. Grievously injured in the Peninsular War, he can no longer walk unaided, let alone shoot a pistol. What use can he possibly be to a damsel in distress? He has nothing left to offer except his good name. Can a marriage of convenience save Philly from the vengeful duke? Or will life with Arthur put her—and her heart—in more danger than ever?
"In her sixth historical romance, Matthews (The Pug Who Bit Napoleon; A Victorian Lady’s Guide to Fashion and Beauty) weaves suspense and mystery within an absorbing love story. MY REVIEW

This is a great read!! Except for the cussing that went on in the story. We could've done without that.

Philly and Arthur, well they were just an amazing couple! I loved that they ( especially him) didn't keep the truth from his wife except maybe just a teensy bit but I understand why.

Philly is just this amazing woman who doesn't let life get her down (not even the meanest woman in the story)!! Philly is all heart I just love her and I wanted to cry when she got hurt.
I could picture Arthur handsome, sophisticated especially in his Army coat sitting proudly on his horse. Oh my!! Makes me want to drool if I say so myself. However; his personality needed a lot of work but really who could blame him! I certainly can sympathize with him about the leg part.
My leg hurts all the time now. I even carry a cane as well though I don't want to. On the note, it takes the pressure of my leg.
I was glad to see that Arthur didn't let that stop him.
I will be looking forward to reading more from this new to me author.
Her writing style is just incredible!!
I think I would classify this as another Cinderella tale though but it was still a delightful read!!
My thanks to Netgalley for this incredible book!! No compensation were recieved. All opinions are my own!

She walks in love by Marylu Tyndall

ABOUT THE BOOK

She Walks in Love

(Protectors of the Spear #2)

by
 4.64  ·   Rating details ·  47 ratings  ·  31 reviews
She must protect the Spear of Destiny at all costs
He must bring the lady safely home
But the powers of darkness chasing them have other ideas

Lady Cristiana D'Clere, the new protector of the Spear, is on the run from the steward of her estate, who has kept her drugged for years. All she ever wanted was to be safe, marry well, and raise a bevy of wee ones. Instead, she is far from home, chased by men intent on killing her and stealing the Spear of Christ for its incredible powers.

Sir Jarin the Just has never forgotten the woman who stirred his heart like no other. Determined to find and restore her to her proper place as Lady of Luxley Castle, he sets out on a journey fraught with more dangers than he ever could have foreseen. The biggest danger is to his heart, for he has vowed to remain unfettered and never surrender his freedom to a woman.

Though the Spear protects the couple along their journey, Cristiana must learn to trust the One whose blood stains the relic, while Jarin must learn to rely on powers far above his own knightly skills. For the dark magic that is chasing them may take all the powers of heaven to defeat.

MY REVIEW

A truly enchanting tale!! and in a way much more different than what I"m used to reading by this author. But overall, it was very enjoyable!! I couldn't put the book down!! I burned some midnight light reading this book and let me tell you reader friends!! Some of this book really made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck!! Wow!!
This book is 2nd in the Protectors of the Spear series. This book will make you want to sit on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next.
The character are wonderful!! but, there are some who will be shady in this story too
Marylu is a wonderful writer and knows how to tell a story to make you believe that you are actually in the book with Christiana D' Clere is truly a heroine. She's my heroine because I love her kind, caring and vulnerable ways in which she uses the spear. She uses it for the good to help others.
I like that she has a very strong love for God. There are times that she feels undeserving of His love but, then don't we all? Are we not all a work in progress?
I love how this author portrays good and evil and shows that there are dark forces all around us. These are the same evil forces that has run her off from all that she has loved.
I love the knight Sir Jarin. I love it that he wants to step in a help in any way he can to set things right.
Just this past week our preacher preached on darkness. I think Marylu and my preacher Joe got together and discussed or hashed it out because I read a passage in where if the forces may seem very dark. He even shut his little flashlight off and all the other lights were turned off too. When he shown the flashlight, there was only a small small point of light. It was so dark that no a one of could see the other person!! Not even the one next to us!! Now that was sort of scary!!
But, when he turned that little flashlight, it gave us hope. If that hope can get through then the darkness will run away Hallelujah!!
I agree that money is the root of all evil. I think that it is the way people use it against each other. It can also leave you wanting for more until you are just never satisfied.
God never leaves us but we walk away from He thinking that we can do things on our own. Not true!! What is that old saying Pride goeth before a fall?
There is also a hidden message in this awesome book too! I love messages like that!
There's this little saying that we can do things all through Christ if we turn unto Him.
I enjoyed watching Christiana grow and learn about our Savior's love. His love is the sweetest gift that we can ever receive!!
I encourage you my reading friends that if you don't know Christ please find someone that can lead you to Him!! You'll be glad you did!! I know I am!!
My thanks to the author for a copy of this book. No compensations were received and all opinions are my own!
