The Dating Charade by Melissa Ferguson

ABOUT THE BOOK

Just when you think you’ve met your match . . . the charade begins.

Cassie Everson is an expert at escaping bad first dates. And, after years of meeting, greeting, and running from the men who try to woo her, Cassie is almost ready to retire her hopes for a husband—and children—altogether.

But fate has other plans, and Cassie’s online dating profile catches the eye of firefighter Jett Bentley. In Jett’s memory, Cassie Everson is the unreachable girl-of-legend from their high school days. Nervously, he messages her, setting off a chain of events that forces a reluctant Cassie back into the dating game.

No one is more surprised than Cassie when her first date with Jett is a knockout. But when they both go home and find three children dropped in their laps—each—they independently decide to do the right and mature thing: hide the kids from each other while sorting it all out. What could go wrong?

Melissa Ferguson’s hilarious and warmhearted debut reminds us that love can come in very small packages—and that sometimes our best-laid plans aren’t nearly as rewarding and fun as the surprises that come our way.

MY REVIEW

This book sort of reminds me of Yours, Mine and Ours movie. Could be that's why I loved it so well!

Gosh this is such a cute read!! I got some snickers out of this delightful story!!
Life sure can sure some unexpected curves at you when you least expect it.
Jett and Cassie are proof of that.
While there are some serious moments in the book there's also some snickers too. This author has woven everything in perfectly!
Of course you can only guess who steals the show right from the start!
But what I can't understand is why are Cassie and Jett lying to each other for?
I loved Cassie from the start. She is somewhat like me and tends to wear her heart on her sleeve. She's always ready to help someone in need. I admired her greatly!
She's got grits that's for sure!! But best of all her heart is in the right place.
I think my most heartbreaking scene was at the beginning. Melissa sure knows how to rip your heart out!
Jett gives me mixed feelings. I don't know how to explain it. I mean I like him and all and I think he's perfect for Cassie but there's just something.......,
Could be he wasn't ready for what was thrown at him. But then none of really are. Children don't come with instructions. Heavens I would have it made if that were the case.
I loved the basketball scene best I believe. While I was reading I could see and hear them banter back and forth lol!
This book is a can't put down one that's for sure. I loved this Rom-Com. It gave me a break from the more serious reading that I do. This was definitely your fun to read book. I had no idea what to expect when I opened it. I got the ride of a lifetime in this book.
I didn't really like Sunny. In my opinion he's too self centered. He's also a complainer too! My Goodness! I thought he could have at least helped Jett out some. For the most part I felt that he got what he deserved and boy was it funny!
Poor Sarah!! I thought she tried too hard.
But I did think she was a bit pushy. I'm glad she was there to help out though.
I love the cover of the book. I think it looks mysterious. It goes with it quite well. In my opinion, it gives no clue as to what is inside. You've got the blurb for that. Sometimes I can't stand blurbs. It tends to give too much of the story away.
I highly recommend this book. It's a delightful read and one you'll enjoy very much.
My thanks to Netgalley. NO compensations were received and all opinions are my own.
